I began my law enforcement career in 1982 with the San Bernardino County Marshal's Department as a clerk/dispatcher. I rose through the ranks and became an executive secretary in 1997. Our department merged with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department in 1999 and became the Court Services Bureau, where I remained as the executive secretary to the deputy chief. In 2004 we packed up our family and moved out to the country in Southwest Missouri, where I live today. In 2005 Dade County Emergency Services came into existence and I was hired as a telecommunicator. I am still employed there, where I currently serve as the dispatch supervisor and communications training officer for our center. I am also very active in our school district, where I also substitute teach and was recently president of our PTSO. I currently serve on the Ambulance Board as secretary and am the treasurer for Missouri APCO. I also served on the APCO Editorial Committee as the vice chairman and the APCO Professional Development Events Committee. I also serve on the boards of several non-profit groups in our area. I am married with one son who served in the United States Marine Corps (oorah!). I love what I do and I love teaching others.
