I am the director of the 911 Center for the Town of Cary. I was hired as the Town of Cary’s first civilian 911 Center Director in October of 2009. I am originally from Northern Kentucky and lived in Kentucky until I enlisted in the US Air Force in 1983. I spent four years in the US Air Force stationed at the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base as a Security Specialist. In 1987 I left the Air Force and joined the Myrtle Beach Police Department where I spent the next twenty-one years as a Law Enforcement Officer until I retired in 2008. During my tenure with Myrtle Beach, I held many positions to include Internal Affairs, Training Coordinator, Special Events Supervisors, and 911 Center Supervisor. It was during my time in the 911 center where I found a whole new side of Law Enforcement. Working the 911 Center was something special and took a whole different breed of people to perform the many duties they were tasked with on a daily basis. These experiences lead me to seek a manager’s position with a 911 Center after his retirement which lead him to the Town of Cary.
