APCO Exec Committee Kicks Off National Public Safety Telecommunicatons Week

On April 12 the APCO Exec Committee held a press conference in New Castle, Delaware to commence the annual NPSTW activities nationwide.  

President Dick Mirgon welcomed all attendees and introduced the Executive Committee.  President-Elect Bill Carrow spoke on the importance of NPSTW and the honoring of the men and women that not only handle the emergency calls and dispatch help and assistance, but also those that maintain the various systems, program radios, provide training and administer communication centers throughout the country.

The Lt. Governor of Delaware congratulated Bill on being APCO's President-Elect and presented a proclamation honoring this week in Delaware.  The New Castle County Executive welcomed the APCO Exec Committee, congratulated APCO on 75 years of leadership and presented a proclamation.

Following the press conference the media was provided oppostunity to tour the 9-1-1 center, a joint venture between Delaware State Police and New Castle County police, fire and EMS.
