FL APCO Emerging Technology Committee  

Whereas the Florida Chapter of APCO recognizes the need to actively and efficiently keep its membership informed regarding current and future technologies affecting public safety communications.
The Florida Chapter of APCO created the Technology Committee on the 29th day of June, 2007. Due to the various emerging technologies that will affect public safety in the future, the committee was renamed Emerging Technology Committee in November 2011.
The committee will be responsible for;
1. Researching, evaluating, and working to establish standards for technology affecting public safety communications.
2. Work with APCO International standards committees in the completion of researching, evaluating, and working to establish standards for technology affecting public safety communications.
3. Educate the Florida chapter membership and Executive Council regarding technology issues affecting public safety communications.
4. Publish information and articles through the chapter web site, news letter and APCO Bulletin that help public safety effectively plan, implement and utilize public safety technology.
5. All committee administrative functions will be carried out in accordance with the APCO International and Florida chapter by-laws.
