Use of EPD Priority Dispatch

I am looking for general input on how widespread the use of EPD Priority Dispatch is in 911 Centers who dispatch law enforcement... and how accepting the LE community is of its use??? Thanks

Clay,
We have found that the most successful implementation of EPD involves reaching out to all your stakeholders and getting their buy-in. Include police representatives (administration, supervision, and line) in your initial discussions with your protocol vendor and throughout the implementation process. It is even an excellent idea to include supervision and line officers in your EPD protocol training classes. EPD Protocols should provide officers with the confidence that they will consistently receive all the information relevant to the dispatched call. This should reduce radio traffic from officers requesting if certain questions or information was obtained from the caller.
Call me and I would be glad to discuss this further.

Clay, we have purchased, and trained on the EPD - our Sheriffs Office has been helpful in 'tweaking' this more for our locality, without changing the meaning of EPD. Contact me offline at rlgentry@co.hanover.va.us and we can 'chat' further.
