The National Governors Association (NGA) today sent a letter to Chairman Genachowski of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requesting that the National Broadband Plan be amended to reallocate the 700 MHz D block to public safety to ensure a nationwide broadband network will meet the mission critical needs of the public safety community.
The letter was signed by the co-chairs of the NGA Special Committee on Homeland Security and Public Safety Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley and Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty.
