I'm looking for any solutions for areas without NG911 capabilities for the deaf community to use with mobile phones. Is there a TTY solution for cellular phones?
Thanks,

Hi Paul,
In canada, the CRTC (same as »FCC) has regulated that any deaf person with a mobile phone can register his cell phone as a deaf-phone and use text instead of voice. This after he has dialed 9-1-1. T
Thus, when 9-1-1 is dialed, the cell co flags the call as from a deaf person and sends a text messagev to the nearest PSAP to sms-callback the caller at his cell number for all subsequent communication. A PSAP sms-client is also required
