Working Supervisors

I am looking to see if your agency has working Supervisors or are they dedicated Supervisors who do not take radios or answer calls.
1) Is the Supervisor dedicated or a working Supervisor?
2) How many personnel in the Communications Center?

Our Shift Managers do not work the radios normally. We do pick up phones from inside the manager's office when it's busy. We are a department of 40+, anywhere from 7 - 10 per shift.

In our center the Manager works the radio when it gets busy and they need a 3rd dispatcher in the center or if we are short handed. Our Supervisors are working at the radio console and we schedule them as a 3rd person when possible so they can do any extras that are needed. We are a small agency of 12 (1 Manager, 2 Supervisors, 9 dispatchers) with normally 2 dispatcher on duty at one time.

Thomas, we have working Supervisors with 5-6 staff members on-duty including the supervisor.
