Hello everyone! I'm Trae Maeder, and I wear a few different hats! Currently, I’m a Communications Dispatcher with the Lee County Port Authority (Fort Myers, FL - KRSW & KFMY), a Board Member with the Florida Chapter of APCO, a Team Member/Contributing Editor with Humanizing the Headset, and an Intern with the Denise Amber Lee Foundation. I also have the pleasure of serving on multiple committees and workgroups with APCO, NENA, and beyond. Previously I served as a State Law Enforcement Dispatcher with the Florida Highway Patrol in Southwest Florida. I greatly enjoy having this platform to engage with other industry professionals from around the world and I look forward to hearing from you!
I am an APCO Communications Training Officer, Registered Public Safety-Leader (RPL), and NENA Emergency Number Professional (ENP). I greatly enjoy participating in continuing education whenever I can, whether in person or online, or just through conversation with others. Recently I have gotten involved in some instructional design projects and instruction at both in-person and virtual conferences. As of 2023 I am also part of APCO’s RPL Facilitator Team and am so fortunate to have the opportunity to interact with the leaders of our industry.
When I'm not dispatching, training new headset heroes, or volunteering my time with my other responsibilities, I'm a bit of a PC video gamer, avid reader, and craft beer enthusiast, or you'll find me out spending time with friends and family.
That’s me! Don’t hesitate to reach out if there is anything I can do to support you or your organization.
