Roderick Jackson is Communications Manager for Baytown Public Safety Communications. He worked for the City of Houston at the Houston Emergency Center (9-1-1) in Houston, Texas for over 20 years. He moved to Houston, Texas in the winter of 2001 to work for the City of Houston 9-1-1 system as a PSAP Supervisor. His career began in 1995 with American Medical Response, Inc. in Jackson, MS as a National Registered Emergency Medical Technician. After 3 years there, Roderick decided it was time for a change of scenery and moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he worked for the City of Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish EMS/911 Communications Center. While employed there, Roderick was selected as a Communications Training Officer. During this tenure, one of his many responsibilities were training of new hire and seasoned employees on call taking and dispatch procedures along with many other areas of communications. Roderick holds many certifications in public safety communications, such as RPL in addition, he holds certification as an EMD & CTO Instructor.
