Although retired from full time employment I remain very active with the Atlantic Chapter of APCO assisting with whatever the current president and board of officers may need. I currently chair the Nominating Committee of the Chapter to help insure we have quality candidates for our chapter offices.
I am proud to note that two of my daughters have followed me into public safety. Our daughter Kathleen McNeil has served as a Paramedic in Charleston County, SC for many years before retireng to the City of Campbellsville, KY where she is now a state certified 9-1-1 call taker/dispatcher for Taylor County 9-1-1. Our daughter Lisa Havens, retired from the US Navy after a 21 year career in communications. She is now a supervisor with the Barnstable County (Cape Cod) MA Communications Center located at Joint Base Cape Cod providing 9-1-1 service and fire dispatch for many communities on the Cape. Our third daughter, Debra Powers, is a graduate of Mount Ida College and is a Veterinary Technician in the Boulder CO area. She specializes in the care of small animals.
