Will Young is a former Public Educator turned Police Telecommunicator with the Clearwater Police Department, where he also serves as a Lead Worker and Communications Training Officer. He is both Co-Chair of Public Affairs and an At-Large Board Member for Florida APCO, and is currently enrolled in APCO International’s Registered Public-Safety Leader (RPL) program, because apparently, sleep is optional.
As a proud (and usually vocal) neurodivergent professional on the Autism Spectrum, he takes a human-first position in all that he does, prioritizing people, culture, and resilience in emergency communications. With a Kaizen (yes, you should look it up) mindset and a stubborn refusal to settle for “good enough,” Will is always looking for ways to make things a little better, whether inside the comm center, across the profession at large, or in life.
Equal parts advocate and instigator, he carries a relentless drive for improvement, inclusion, and equality, because that’s exactly what our communities deserve.
