I have been in law enforcement most of my adult life, 2 years as a campus police officer while I obtained my degree in Criminal Justice, 2 years as an armed reserve officer (and the first woman in a police uniform in the city I live in). in 1983 I began working at the Chaffee County sheriff's Office Comm Center and found that I loved it. In 1990 I was promoted to the Comm Supervisor position. Over the years the position has changed and I do not work the "boards" very often, the role is now more administrative. As with most small counties most employees wear many hats, this is definately the case in our county, I also act as the IT for the SO, work on the Homeland Security grants, and in 2010 was appointed as the back up Emergency Manager. We have a great dispatch center and I will be happy to be a part of the team for years to come.
