Robbie McCormick is a 15-year veteran of the 9-1-1 industry. Starting as a front-line dispatcher in 2009, she has been TAC, CTO, First-Line Supervisor, Training Coordinator, Director, and now Deputy Director, stretching from New Mexico to Texas to Georgia. She holds her BAS in Social Sciences with a minor in Criminal Justice and an MSE in Education. Robbie has attained the professional designations of Registered Public-Safety Leader (RPL) and Certified Public Safety Executive (CPE) both from the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO). She is a certified Executive Level PST and Master Instructor for NM DPS, Basic Instructor for TCOLE (Texas), and a Certified GA POST Instructor.
Robbie also provides instruction nationwide as a member of the APCO Adjunct Cadre of instructors, as well as being a contributing writer to several APCO texts and courses. She presents at APCO National Conferences and most recently Georgia Emergency Communication Conference. Robbie serves as the Co-Chair of the APCO Standards Development Committee’s Training Sub-Committee, assisting in guiding the group’s efforts in developing national 9-1-1 training standards and core competencies. She is the current Georgia APCO Membership Committee Chair.
In her current role, Robbie leads several teams that work in concert to recruit, hire and train fantastic talent for the Cobb County Department of Emergency Communications and guide staff through 1-5 year Professional Development Plans to meet their personal and professional goals.
She is married to Cmdr. James McCormick (Retired) and has three adult children, one son-in-law and one daughter-in-law, as well as one mischievous but lovable cat. Robbie enjoys crime shows, politics, reading, and playing her piano in her “spare time”.
