Shantelle started her career as a dispatcher in Shreveport, Louisiana before arriving at the Irving Police Department in January 2001. At Irving, Shantelle advanced up the ranks from Communications Training Officer, Senior Dispatcher, and Communications Supervisor. Shantelle left Irving in 2018 and worked at the Tarrant County 9-1-1 District. While working at the District, Shantelle oversaw training and public education. Shantelle serves as the Support Services Manager at the North Emergency Communications Center. As the Support Services Manager, she oversees Training and Quality Assurance.
Shantelle's education includes a Bachelors' degree in Criminal Justice. She is a certified TCOLE instructor, TERT (Telecommunicator Emergency Response Taskforce) instructor, and an Associate Trainer which allows her to teach NCIC/TCIC related courses. These certifications have allowed her to expand her skills into the teaching realm where it has afforded her the opportunity to travel within the state as well as outside of the state of Texas as a Contract Instructor. She most recently attended APCO's six-month intense leadership course, Certified Public-Safety Executive (CPE).
In her spare time, she is a Professional Disc Jockey.
