Chuck has spent over 40 years working in public safety. Chuck has published several articles in the public safety trade journals, and is a frequent presenter at the annual conference for APCO.
While Chuck has retired from the Alameda County Regional Emergency Communications Center, he continues to be active in his profession and work on public safety communications issues. He uses his experience to consult on public safety communications projects, under the pseudonym of SMOKEATER CONSULTING.
Chuck has been called the Grandfather of Incident Dispatching, and the Father of the Alameda County Regional Emergency Communications Center.
He was appointed by California Governor Jerry Brown to sit on the State 9-1-1 Advisory Board, and is the current chairperson of the 9-1-1 Working Group for that board.
In October of 2016, Chuck was certified as a Project Management Professional by the Project Management Institute, Inc.
