I recently retired from my Dispatch Training Coordinator position with the Town of Waterford after 31 years of service. I started my career as a part time police dispatcher. Four years later, I was hired by the same agency in the capacity of a full time Public Safety Dispatcher I. Two years after I was full time, I applied and was hired within the agency as a Training Coordinator or as my agency calls it a Public Safety Dispatcher II. I am a State of Ct Telecommunicator Instructor as well as an APCO instructor for the Telecommunicator and Communications Training Officer class. I am certified to conduct Occupational Analysis using the DACUM process. I am an active member of the Atlantic Chapter of APCO serving on the CCS Occupational Analysis Sub-Committee. I have also volunteered on the APCO Training Review (Formerly P33) Committee. I am currently working towards a bachelors degree in Emergency Management with a minor in Public Safety in an online program with Jacksonville State University.
I am an APCO Adjunct instructor teaching both on-line and live courses. I am also a part time Training Advisor for Mashantucket Public Safety.
