I have been in Public Safety for 24 years. I started my career as a part time police dispatcher. Four years later, I was hired by the same agency in the capacity of a full time Public Safety Dispatcher I. Two years after I was full time, I applied and was hired within the agency as a Training Coordinator or as my agency calls it a Public Safety Dispatcher II.
I am a State of Ct Telecommunicator Instructor as well as an APCO instructor for the Telecommunicator and Communications Training Officer class. I was recently certified to conduct Occupational Analysis using the DACUM process.
I am active member of the Atlantic Chapter of APCO serving on the CCS Occupational Analysis Sub-Committee, the CCS P33 Review Sub-Committee and Training and Certification Tracking.
I am currently working towards a bachelors degree in Emergency Management with a minor in Public Safety in an online program with Jacksonville State University.
I am 4 1/2 years away from retirement. I would like my legacy to be a complete Public Safety I Training Program and a Public Education Program for the community with a career program for the middle and high school.
