I am currently a Communications Operator III assigned to the Missouri State Highway Patrol - Troop D office in Springfield, Missouri. Troop D covers 18 counties in Southwest Missouri, and consist of around 146 Troopers plus additional Commercial Vehicle Enforcement staff. As with other agencies, our primary duties include speaking to the public, officers, and outside agencies.
In 2015 I became a Communications Training Operator for the Patrol and have been apart of training new Communications Operators for their duties. I continue to serve as a CTO do this date.
I became a certified Public Safety Communications Trainer through the Missouri Professional Training Partnership in 2016. The Partnership exists to provide free state-certified continuing education to public safety communications officials throughout the state. I have a passion for this because I know how underfunded agencies are in rural counties of Missouri. It is my goal and drive to continue the ability to provide up to date and relevant continuing education, for free, to agencies within the State of Missouri.
In July of 2018, I was lucky enough to be appointed to not one but two APCO committees, the Awards and Editorial Committees, and I am also a member of APCO's Young Professionals Taskforce. I was also recently appointed to chair the Missouri Chapter Technology Committee and in March 2019, I was elected to serve as the Secretary for Missouri APCO. I look forward to serving in these positions.
